IEEE CNS 2022 PAPER/ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

IEEE CNS 2022 MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

DOUBLE BLIND SUBMISSIONS

All submitted papers will be judged based on their quality and relevance through double-blind reviewing, where the identities of the authors are withheld from the reviewers. As an author, you are required to preserve the anonymity of your submission, while at the same time allowing the reader to fully grasp the context of related past work, including your own. Common sense and careful writing will go a long way towards preserving anonymity. Papers that do not conform to our double-blind submission policies will be rejected without review.

Minimally, please take the following steps when preparing your submission:

  • Remove the names and affiliations of authors from the title page.
  • Remove acknowledgments of identifying names and funding sources.
  • Remove project titles or names that can be used to trace back to the authors via a web search engine.
  • Use care in naming your files. Source file names (e.g., "Alice-n-Bob.dvi") are often embedded in the final output as readily accessible comments.
  • Use care in referring to related work, particularly your own. Do not omit references to provide anonymity, as this leaves the reviewer incapable of grasping the context. Instead, reference your past work in the third person, just as you would any other piece of related work by another author. For example, instead of "In prior work [3], we presented a routing protocol that ...," sentences in the spirit of "In prior work, Smith and Clark [3] presented a routing protocol that ..." should be used. With this method, the full citation to Smith and Clark can still be given, such as "[3] J. Smith, A. Clark, "Analysis of...", and it is not acceptable to say "[3] Reference deleted for double-blind review."
  • The submitted manuscript or its title/abstract should not be posted on a public website, such as arxiv.org, or transmitted via public mailing lists.
  • The submitted manuscript (PDF file) should be text-searchable. Any submission that does not meet this requirement may be returned without review.
  • Many of the editing tools automatically add metadata to the generated PDF file containing information that may violate the double blind policy. Please remove any possible metadata that can link your manuscript to you. This includes removing names, affiliation, license numbers etc. from the Metadata as well as from the paper. Failing to meet this requirement may also lead to a rejection without review.
  • Remove any embedded author/affiliation information in the PDF metadata. Go to Acrobat menu File/Properties… and remove any author information there.

MANUSCRIPT LAYOUT AND TEMPLATES

NOTE: Manuscripts that do not conform to the formatting guidelines below (PDF format, 9-page limit, margins, font size, embedded fonts etc.) will be removed from further consideration without review.

Manuscript submissions should be in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) only. All submissions must be written in English with a maximum length limit of 9 pages, including main text and references. The submissions should not have appendics. Font size should be no smaller than 10 points.

The three most important elements of manuscript layouts are:

  1. Margins: these must be strictly followed. Manuscripts cannot be accepted for review until proper margins are used.

      US Letter A4
    Top Margin 0.75 inch 19 mm
    Bottom Margin 1 inch 43 mm
    Side Margins 0.625 inch 13 mm

    When you upload your PDF, EDAS should report the margins are no less than 0.625x0.625x1x0.75 with a text region no more than 7.25 inches x 9.25 inches on a standard US Letter document (8.5 inches x 11 inches). The minimum line spacing should be 10pt. Of course, your margins and line spacing can be larger than this. If you have problems setting the individual margins, please set 1 inch margins all around.

    Please run the paper formatting check on EDAS yourself by clicking on the printer icon under the Check Format column in the Files row in the basic paper view page.

  2. Manuscript should not have
    • Headers
    • Footers
    • Page Numbers

  3. The following should be added in front of the latex file:

    \documentclass[conference]{IEEEtran}
    %% IEEE CNS addition:
    \makeatletter
    \def\ps@headings{%
    \def\@oddhead{\mbox{}\scriptsize\rightmark \hfil \thepage}%
    \def\@evenhead{\scriptsize\thepage \hfil \leftmark\mbox{}}%
    \def\@oddfoot{}%
    \def\@evenfoot{}}
    \makeatother
    \pagestyle{empty}

    You are free to use good judgment in the presentation of your information. These guidelines are meant only as helpful tools. However, basic adherence to layout specifications is expected.

    Download Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings

    Note: LaTeX templates IEEEtran LaTeX Class (template) packages and IEEEtran BibTeX (bibliography) packages. Be sure to use the template's conference mode. See template documentation for details.

Please note that EDAS will not accept your submission if the PDF does not comply with the template instructions such as paper length, margins, and fonts embedding. We recommend that you proactively check that your PDF generation is correct by uploading a draft of your paper early enough.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION IN EDAS

During the initial paper submission process via EDAS, the authors are required to make sure the pdf file and EDAS registration page of a paper have the same list of authors and the paper title. Be certain to add all authors in EDAS during the submission process. Failure to comply with this rule and your paper may be withdrawn from the review process. Once reviewed the listing of authors connected to the paper can NOT be changed in the final manuscript.

IEEE AND IEEE COMMUNICATIONS SOCIETY POLICIES

Papers are reviewed on the basis that they do not contain plagiarized material and have not been submitted to any other conference at the same time (double submission). These matters are taken very seriously and the IEEE Communications society will take action against any author who has engaged in either practice.

PLEASE NOTE:

To be published in the IEEE CNS 2022 Conference Proceedings and to be eligible for publication in IEEEXplore®, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the full (member or non-member) rate and the paper must be presented by an author of that paper at the conference unless the TPC Chair grants permission for a substitute presenter arranged in advance of the event and who is qualified both to present and answer questions. Non-refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final IEEE formatted, publication-ready version of the paper. For authors with multiple accepted papers, one full registration is valid for up to 3 papers. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IEEE 2022 Conference Proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore® as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
